Tidetrove 2012

Exhibited at the Shire Hall Gallery, Stafford, as part of the ‘Gold, Silver and Bronze’ Exhibition, (2012).

‘Tidetrove’ is an ongoing photographic and poetic examination of a stretch of shoreline in Donegal on the northwest coast of Ireland. It holds for me a wealth of precious memories and creative associations. I have scrutinized this tide line obsessively for years, always marveling at its transformative power.

comb the tideline

of this molten shore

for the evening trove,

half buried relics

forged in sunset,

a find of buckled bronze,

a windborn tapestry

threaded in fine gold,

a gilded filigree

ghosted in the sand,

the ocean’s alchemy

gifted at your feet.
