‘The Quiet Man’ – an interrogation

Poems and Photoworks,  part of an exhibition of work at the Verbal Arts Centre, Derry.

(1st May to 30st June 2016)

In this selection of work, poetry and photographic images have originated and developed as one, referencing and evidencing each other.

Word and image combine to extend and challenge memory and meaning, creating a multi-layered response to the central themes.

In ‘The Bilko Rosary’ and ‘The Quiet Man – an interrogation’, personal memory and family mythology are recalled and reimagined. Memories are recaptured, imprinted with glimpses of popular culture and period politics, partially focused in half remembered facts and fallacies
