‘The Bovedy Illuminations’
Special Screening

The Seamus Heaney HomePlace, Bellaghy, Co. Derry.

(2pm Saturday 26th October 2019)

Tickets can be booked directly from seamusheaneyhome.com

To mark the screening at HomePlace of his film The Bovedy Illuminations, Noel will be joined on stage by poet Gerald Dawe for readings and an informal conversation on memory, art and the influence of Seamus Heaney on their journeys from their own places in Belfast.

Noel’s first publication Gravities was a collection of drawings to accompany poems by Seamus Heaney. It included Exposure which has always held a special significance for the artist and again provides an undercurrent for this screening and discussion.

Gerald Dawe’s poetry collections include Selected Poems (2012), Mickey Finn’s Air (2014) and The Last Peacock (2019). He has also published several volumes of criticism and memoirs, most recently In Another World: Van Morrison and Belfast (2017) and Looking through you: Northern Chronicles (2019). He contributed the biographical essay on Seamus Heaney to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (2017).
